Plant Checklist

Marsh Marigolds. The Natural Area has a varied topography including rolling hills, depressional areas, stabilized sand dunes, and a intermittent stream. This topographical variety helps to support a diversity of plant communities including shrubby grasslands, spruce and mixedwood forests, grassy meadows, and willow/sedge wetlands.  Because of this diversity of plant communities, the natural area supports nearly 300 species of vascular plants.  The natural area also supports several species of rare plant such as Low Milkweed (Asclepias ovalifolia).

Below you will find the complied plant checklist for the natural area. Special thanks to Sylvia Glass and Gail Hughes for their hard work compiling this list.  Please feel free to contact us regarding any new plants found within the natural area that are missing from this current checklist.
